Other known stories/facts:
When GERTRUDE was young, she and her friends would be taken to Crooked Lake, and they would paddle a canoe through the Inland Water Route back to Cheboygan. They would camp at night wherever they landed, sometimes on the beach of cottagers, who would be quite amused in the morning, one time in a cow field.

GERTRUDE and her sisters had a pony named Muggins. They would hitch him to a buggy, then drive seven miles to Mullett Lake. They would start a fire on the road behind (first ?, then Schupp's and now Cornwell's), cook some "Seven Sisters Fudge". When it was done, they beat it a little and put the pan in the stream. By the time the pan reached the lake (about 200 feet), the fudge was ready to eat.

BALMY, Aunt Blan, Aunt Hip Moloney (not a blood relation), and Grandmother Olds (LEORA CALISTE WILLIAMS) took a trip around the world just after WWI. When they landed the "girls" took their Swiss watches out of their boxes and put them on. They got caught because the Customs officers went through the waste baskets. Grandmother Olds threw her box overboard and did not have to pay duty.
